CES 2024’s Most Innovative and Impactful Technologies

This year’s CES showcased a lot of AI-powered tech, along with a few very interesting devices that you’ll be able to order in only a few months.

When it comes to genuinely game-changing technologies, it takes something truly special to stand out from the crowd. That’s why we’ve looked at everything that CES 2024 has to offer and have put together a list of the products that have the potential to transform your everyday life.

These are the products and technologies that have caught our eye and made us think about how the future will look – they’re the crème de la crème of innovation, if you will. So, without further ado, here are the most innovative technologies showcased at this year’s CES.

As we anticipated, there was a significant amount of AI tech present, but there were also a few surprises. Among these was a massive $200,000 foldable TV, an upcoming handheld gaming device that we got to try out, Samsung’s innovative phone display which can fold both forwards and backwards, as well as yet another flying taxi prototype.

The Awe-inspiring 77-inch Transparent OLED TV from LG

Have you ever dreamt of having a large television that you can hide when not in use? While you can hide a regular TV with a bit of clever engineering, the OLED T by LG solves this issue in a more elegant way. Its transparent OLED technology allows for a near-transparent effect. Its back panel consists of a black film that can roll up revealing a see-through display that mirrors the wall behind it.

The transparent screen can transform into a virtual aquarium or showcase art, it cna display screensavers, or widgets which are included in the Always On options of the TV’s settings menu. Although the transparency is not flawless, the product excels in its ability to effectively vanish when not in use.

The OLED T also features wireless functionality (excluding the power cord), enabling devices such as cable boxes or gaming consoles to be placed up to 30 feet away from the television.

The transparent OLED technology has been around for several years, however, it was never successfully implemented into a consumer-ready product. LG anticipates that this 77-inch consumer model will become available in mid-2024. Although the pricing is yet to be determined, its price tag is expected to be worthy of the TV’s revolutionary features..

The Asus Zenbook Duo – A 3-pound dual-screen laptop with two 14-inch OLED displays

Amongst the many announcements at CES 2024, Asus revealed its latest Zenbook Duo, which stands out as a dual-screen laptop with two full 14-inch OLED touchscreens.

This marks a departure from previous Zenbook Duo models, which featured one full display and a smaller screen.

The device offers a combined workspace of 19.8 inches in a compact, lightweight package weighing just three pounds, effectively merging the functionality of a portable all-in-one desktop with that of a 14-inch laptop.

While similar designs have been seen in other products, such as Lenovo’s Yoga Book 9i from last year, the Asus Zenbook Duo improves upon this concept by incorporating a sturdy built-in kickstand that enables both horizontal and vertical usage, along with a Bluetooth keyboard which can be stored between the screens. The kickstand and the keyboard allow the user to essentially turn the laptop into a desktop PC, similar to an all-in-one product.

It’s also worth mentioning that the laptop’s performance is on par with most current-gen ultrabook, featuring powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 processors, integrated Intel Arc graphics, and up to 32GB of memory.

Asus has announced that the Zenbook Duo will be available in Q1 with a starting price of approx. $1,500. While it might be tempting to dismiss the Zenbook Duo as a novelty device, or a gimmick, the sheer amount of power that it offers will make it one of the best laptops of 2024.

The Evie Health Tracker Ring

The Evie ring is unlike any health tracker that we’ve seen at CES over the years. The ring  is specifically designed for women, offering comprehensive tracking of menstrual cycles, ovulation periods, menstrual symptoms, daily steps, active minutes, sleep patterns, and mood monitoring.

All the sensors and the monitoring technology are incorporated into a ring that resembles regular jewelry. Although there are other wearable devices that offer a good chunk of Evie’s functionality, unlike something like an Apple Watch, the ring can be comfortably worn throughout the night worrying that its battery will die before you wake up.

As you’d expect, you can see all the information collected by the ring using a free app. The Evie ring is available to order now for $270, and it doesn’t require a subscription — but the companion app is iOS only at the moment. Whether it will be made compatible with Android or it will be an iOS exclusive remains to be seen.
